Hi. This is Mike. I’m a contributing foodie writer friend of Lori’s. The football season is over but that doesn’t mean we have to stop making these terrific poppers. This recipe comes to us from Willow. One nice thing is you can use gluten-free alternatives to the flour and breadcrumbs and have a gluten-free appetizer.
The filling is a cream cheese and grated cheese mixture. The peppers are double breaded in flour and then bread crumbs. Baking time is just 30 minutes. What makes these poppers even better is the spicy apricot sauce. Apricot preserves, ginger powder, cayenne and more. Yikes it’s good!
